BF6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Users have commenced resorting to personalized games made via the custom game tool to complete them, underscoring just how demanding these missions have become.

Grasping BF6 Tasks

Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. There are four classes of assignments, but although many only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the exclusive means of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons present in the game.

A number of these locked weapons could shortly earn a place on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Within Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you want to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns over 200m with marksman guns

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps an additional option at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Workaround

Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on any map you prefer, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the developer's vision.

But when doing the challenges in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?

Upcoming Tweaks

It is expected if a number of these missions are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply will never acquire the gated weapons.

At the moment, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these challenging in-game tasks, anticipating a fairer overall gameplay in future updates.
